Algemeene Nederlandsche Verlichtings Industrie Almelo, founded in 1933. Michael van den Abele, the operating director at ANVIA b.v., noted that the company’s designs are based on the Bauhaus’s concept that “form follows function”. As their luminaires are appealing for their classics design and still will be into the future, wherever used.
In the early 1950s ANVIA attracted an independent and talented designer Jan Hoogervorst. This company already was one of the first lighting manufacturers in The Netherlands and started building the simple and elegant designs of Jan, with great succes.
