How to Adjust Your Jieldé Lamp – Follow this step-by-step guide to ensure smooth adjustments and optimal positioning for your adjustable lamp.

Jieldé lighting is renowned for their timeless industrial design and robust construction, making them a suitable in both modern and vintage interiors.

When unboxing your lamp for the first time, you might notice that its joints need some adjustment before use. That is completely normal. The arms and hinges can feel either too stiff or too loose due to factory settings or because of shifting during shipping.

Luckily, adjusting your Jieldé lamp is very simple and only takes a few moments. Properly fine-tuning the joints ensures smooth movement, prevents unnecessary strain, and extends the lamp’s lifespan.
We've broken it down into 6 simple steps—follow them, and you'll be fully prepared!

These instructions apply to the Jieldé Loft, Lak, Signal, and Aicler series.

Step 1: Work from Bottom to Top

Before making any adjustments, unplug the lamp from the power outlet.

Always start at the base and work your way up.
This ensures each joint is properly set before moving to the next.
Adjusting from the bottom up guarantees the correct final position.

Step 2: Understand the Joint Mechanism

Each hinge of your Jieldé lamp consists of a bolt and a nut.
The bolt holds the two halves of the joint together, while the nut secures the bolt in place.

You cannot loosen or tighten the bolt without first adjusting the nut.

Step 3: Choosing the Right Socket Wrench

Step 4: Tightening the Joints

If your lamp is too loose and won’t hold its position, follow these steps:

    1. Use the appropriate socket wrench to gently tighten the bolt. Do not overtighten it; hand-tight is enough.

    2. Once the bolt is in place, tighten the nut to secure it.

    3. Be careful not to use excessive force, as too much pressure can damage the aluminum components.

And take our word for it. If you want, you can be stronger than this aluminium joint. Don't panic, it is rugged enough.

Step 5: Loosening the Joints

If the lamp’s movement feels too stiff, you need to loosen the joints:

  1. First, slightly loosen the nut.

  2. Then, loosen the bolt to the desired level.

  3. Finally, re-tighten the nut just enough to hold the bolt in place without making the joint too tight.

Step 6: Adjusting the Lampshade

The lampshade of your Jieldé lamp is secured with a separate bolt and nut. For quick and easy repositioning, it is best to keep this connection relatively loose. This allows you to easily tilt and rotate the shade when needed.

💡
Additionally, the socket of a Jieldé lamp is compatible with both dimmable and smart bulbs, allowing you to customize your lighting experience to suit your needs.

Final Tips for Maintenance

Regularly check the tightness of the joints to prevent excessive wear.

Use a socket wrench instead of pliers to avoid damaging the bolts.

If a joint feels too loose over time, a minor adjustment is usually all that’s needed.

With this simple adjustment process, your Jieldé lamp will function smoothly and remain in excellent condition for years to come!
