Ebolicht: Lighting as Doctrine

Since 1911, eight years before the Bauhaus manifesto, Bolichwerke Ebolicht has defined what it means to merge form, function and forever.

We build BINK’s collection around Ebolicht because they represent lighting at its most essential and enduring.

🔥 This is why BINK exists
Bolichwerke Ebolicht isn’t just lighting, it’s the physical DNA of modernism. The same fixtures that:

  • Defined the Bauhaus movement

  • Outlasted wars and trends

  • Lit Mies’ blueprints and Oscar-winning films

We’re not retailers. We’re keepers of the glow.

That’s worth the trouble.

Why Ebolicht is BINK’s Cornerstone

Still Built Like 1911 Demanded

While the world moved to plastic and planned obsolescence, Bolichwerke kept the Bauhaus covenant:

The Unchanged Rituals
  • Metal Pressing: Same 80-ton hydraulic presses from Dessau-era workshops—each bend calibrated to ±0.2mm tolerances

  • Glass Blowing: Opaline shades still hand-finished by third-generation artisans in Jena (where Zeiss lenses are born)

  • Brass Aging: Unlacquered bases aged in salt chambers for patinas no chemical wash can fake

Why This Matters

No “Close Enough”

Every screw thread matches original DIN 7991 standards, because Bauhaus was also about interchangeability

Rejection by Default

3 out of every 10 lamps fail final inspection, for flaws only a master craftsperson sees.
Rejects are melted down in-house. No seconds. No sales.

The Hollywood Paradox

These lamps light period films precisely because they refuse to “play vintage”.
That EB-09 pendant in Valkyrie? It was already 80 years old when filmed.
